Ferns are some of the earliest land plants we know of, first appearing 360 million years ago. this extinct fern is one of the earliest. It lived in what is now Pfalz, Germany, during the Permian (298.9–251.9 million years ago).

The plate measures 87x50x8mm. The leaf is 47mm long.
