Copper is one of the few metallic elements to occur as a natural mineral. This copper is from a mine in Adams County, Pennsylvania, USA.

Traditionally, native copper would be converted to useful copper through a series of physical, chemical and electrochemical processes to remove impurities, such as other minerals. But, since we like things a little impure, we have copper that is only a little clean. This piece of native copper consists of copper crystal surrounded by calcite (white), malachite (dark green), epidote (dull light green) and olivine (bright green).

It is 985g, and 16x9x5cm.
