Igneous Theory's Lil Ologist line of collectible fossils are great for the budding paleontologist!
This ammonite is a Phylloceras sp. (The species is unknown because there isn't enough information to identify it beyond its genus.) Related to the octopus, squid and nautilus, this extinct ammonite’s name means “leaf horn” based on the ornate suture lines, which are not visible in this fossil. Instead, this fossil exhibits the iridescence of the shell’s nacre, which is still retained after millions of years.
