Diplomystus and Palm Leaf Eocene Wyoming

Availability: In stock (1)

This 35cm Diplomystus fish came to rest in Fossil Lake, Wyoming around 50 million years ago, during the Eocene. The palm leaf settled next to the fish about 1000 years later, and on close inspection, you can see they are at different layers in the plate. In between the fossils, ripple marks were recorded in the limestone.

The plate is 845x490x45mm, and that includes a plywood back to help support the fossil during transport and for hanging on a wall.
